All aspects of the vocational training are concentrated within the Leonardo da Vinci Programme. It aims to improve the quality of mobility regarding vocational education and training, to make participation accessible to a higher number of individuals, to enhance the cooperation between the learning providers, enterprises and all relevant partners.
Supported actions and project types include:
| Trainee placements: the action targets persons in initial vocational trainings, who undertake short placements in the framework of a training programme as well as young workers, who participate in long-term placements in the field of business life. The grants cover travel, insurance, accommodation and subsistence costs. Duration: 3 - 52 weeks. |
| Mobility of trainers: the action, based on the cooperation between businesses and training institutions, provides opportunities for teaching staff, focusing on the encouraging of the transfer of innovative methods and practices. Its target group includes teaching and administrative staff responsible for human resources and vocational training, vocational guidance specialists and language trainers. Duration: 1-6 weeks. |
| Transfer of innovation projects: aims to improve the quality of training systems and supports transnational cooperation actions. The minimum number of participants is three partners from different countries. The grants will be allocated to the coordinating institutions by National Agencies. The projects involve institutions and associations active in the area of VET, learning providers, social partners, chambers of commerce, research centres, NGOs and trade organisations. Normal duration: 2-3 years |
The target group of the Leonardo da Vinci programme includes young people participating in all forms of vocational education, learners in continuing VET, people active in the labour market, learning providers acting in areas covered by Leonardo, teaching and administrative staff of the above mentioned institutions, associations and representatives of working life, enterprises, social partners, trade organizations, NGOs, non-profit organizations, research centers, bodies and persons responsible for the maintenance of systems and policies concerning issues of lifelong learning either at local, regional or at national level.
